Conformance Target: WCAG 2.1 Level AA

Our Commitment

We believe that everyone deserves access to tools for self-examination and reflection, regardless of ability. We are actively working to ensure Noema Cognition meets Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA across all pages and features.

This statement was last reviewed and updated on April 20, 2026.

Measures We Take

To support accessibility, Noema Cognition takes the following measures:

  • Keyboard navigation — all interactive elements are operable without a mouse, with visible focus indicators
  • Screen reader support — ARIA labels and roles are provided for interactive controls, dynamic content updates, and loading states
  • Color contrast — all text and background combinations are designed to meet or exceed the 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text
  • Motion preferences — animations are suppressed for users who have set prefers-reduced-motion in their system preferences
  • Semantic HTML — proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, and form labels throughout
  • Alt text — all meaningful images and icons include descriptive text alternatives
  • Form accessibility — all form fields have associated visible labels and descriptive error messages

Technical Specification

Noema Cognition is built with standard HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. We test against the following assistive technologies:

  • VoiceOver (macOS and iOS)
  • NVDA (Windows)
  • Keyboard-only navigation (Chrome, Firefox, Safari)

We target compatibility with current and prior major versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.

Known Limitations

We are aware of the following areas where we are still improving:

  • Voice recording — the voice input feature (speech-to-text) requires microphone access and is not accessible via keyboard alone. A full text-based fallback is always available.
  • Pattern timeline — the visual pattern strength chart on the Insights page does not yet include a data table alternative. This is on our roadmap.
  • Dynamic content — some dynamically loaded content (entry reflections, AI responses) may have delayed announcement in screen readers. We are reviewing ARIA live region coverage.

We are continuously working to address these limitations.
